There are 12 main witch clans. All other smaller clans are listed under the protection of one of the 12 main clans. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of smaller clans that fall under one of the 12 main clans. There are six dark clans that represent the six destructive forces of the world. These are madness, chaos, disease, decay, manipulation, and war. There are also six light clans that are represent the six creative concepts: life, death, fate, imagination, nature, and magic.
Witches are the predominate race of the world. They were created by the Goddess Aine, also known as the concept of light when she burst from the Void to form the world. She charged them with watching over the world and making sure that it had what it needed to develop into what it is today.

The Giese Clan was one of the six clans that was brought out with Sloane during the great war. During the war after the death of the original six creative concepts, the witches vied for power. Six of the clans were lost and presumed dead at the time. So, in order to save her race Sloane buried the past and recreated the clans as six clans that are known today. These six clans formed the government of the witch lands up to this point. The Giese was the oldest of these clans to remain intact over the centuries. Unlike, the other clans that have all changed names they have remained mostly unchanged by time. The Giese clan is the largest clan and holds the most land of all the clans.
The Lavoie Clan:

The Lavoie Clan seemed to come out of nowhere. Alex Lavoie was a witch whose powers were awakened when his family was killed in front of his eyes. He killed his attacker and was taken in by the witches only to find out later that he was like his siblings was the child of the Goddess Aine in human form. The Lavoie was one of the clans in the very beginning but time had erased and changed their names. Some believed they were once a part of the Giese Clan. He passed his leadership test and gathered followers of his own. Creating the Lavoie clan again as he rose in power so did his clan. His more modern ideas were in direct conflict with the Giese who were about tradition. The two clans had a history of not getting along which changed with the union between Kieran Giese who was the Giese Clan head and Alex’s daughter Aiyana. The two clans now work together towards the betterment of their race.
The Devry Clan:

The Devry Clan was one of the tribunal along with the Giese, and Lavoie clans before Kyrell restructured the clans. The Devry started out as a part of The Morgan Clan that broke off later into two groups following the death of the witch queen Astrea. The Morgan Clan slowly vanished and only the Devry remained. The Devry Clan has always had a connection to the sea because of the patron god who a sea god. The Devry Clan are most known for their disaster relief many healers come from the Devry. They also have aid centers set up for abused slaves. They are the ones that are called in when natural disasters and such strike. They are like the witches ‘red cross.’
The Paxton Clan:

The Paxton Clan lies deep with the Painted Desert. They were originally the Azarola clan and over time became the Paxton Clan. For the longest time the Paxton clan was ruled by the mermaid queen Sereia who had come out of the ocean and fallen for its clan head. He was the head but many people said that he always bowed to her wishes, unknown to the clan members there was more to it than that. Their head was actually the Prince of the Void and biological son of the concept of darkness himself. When he passed away he returned to his father’s realm and the mermaid queen returned to her own ocean heartbroken leaving her daughters to run the clan. Her one daughter locked her other up and took over the clan becoming one of the most feared names until Catalina was killed by Kyrell for her crimes only to be brought back by her son. Later her niece that she raised as her own daughter took over the clan and is currently the leader hoping to undo some of her mother’s horrors and restore honor to her clan once again.
The Salinas Clan

The Salinas Clan was became a rather peaceful clan despite their alignment. After several breaking up and reforming the Padovan Clan became known as the Salinas. Keeping mostly to themselves the members of the main house went into a sort of hiding to protect the child Hawthorne from being discovered at the request of his mother Dahlia wanting to keep her child away from her sister Catalina’s growing insanity. However, she was only able to save one child. The main family keep it a secret from the world even going as far as to avoid using magic in front of the child allowing him to grow up believing he was a human until the truth came out that he was Everleigh’s twin brother on accident. He has since went to train and come to terms with the truth. The Clan head had his own things to attend to leaving the clan in the hands of his sister Ainara until he returns.
The Vesela Clan:

The Vesela Clan is a small clan located on a series of Islands within the witch lands. Originally called the De Vries Clan their named changed throughout history before finally settling on the Vesela Clan one of the many smaller Clans that developed from the largely clan that faded into nothing. The Vesela Clan was in danger of being absorbed by the Von Clan because they had no one to lead them if their leader passed away. The only daughter of the current head had failed her leadership test and as such if anything happened they would have no leader. So, they sought to marry their daughter to Keir Giese, one of Kyrell’s sons, who had passed his test. His brother was set to run the Giese Clan after their father so he would have a clan to run if he married Aradia. However, he was a known play boy despite this he actually fell in love with the woman and gave up his ways to marry her and save her clan. Keir is a good leader and his people respect him greatly not just because he saved their clan and but because he cares about them. He even choose to take their clan name to honor his new clan.
The Von Clan:

The Von Clan was one of the original twelve clans however when Sloane took them out of the ancestral home the few surviving members of the clan were integrated into other clans until one broke off and reformed the Von Clan. The Von Clan has been behind many varied crimes throughout its time under the leadership of Bryceton. Bryce was the type of man to push people to do as he desired. He was the man was also a man who had secret dealings with werewolves, the witches having a great dislike of wolves after a rocky history and a war that broke out. Bryce being a wolf himself a fact he keep hidden pulled many strings. He also had a child that was born to a wolf, a child that later fell for Everleigh and had twins with her one child that died and another that was hidden from her. The Clan was almost wiped out by Kyrell for its crimes, the remaining members mostly kids or those that weren’t involved because they had left the clan before the events. Bryce was also put to death but returned due to his own powers.
The Kincaid Clan:

The Kincaid Clan was almost wiped out during the war for power that resulted in the death of the concepts. They were lost in the sands of history, the history that Sloane erased, however they managed to survive. The clan head and most his family died. His eldest daughter however managed to survive and lead her people into hiding. They hide for many years keeping to themselves and their clan head ascended to goddess. However, she didn’t pass her title on because of bickering over which of those that had passed the test should take over. So, she decided to keep the title till a worthy replacement could be found.
The Darzi Clan:

One of the clans that vanished during the Concept War. Many battles happened between clans at the time and during one of these battles the general of the Darzi Clan was afraid that the clan was going to face destruction. So, they left the battle and marched their people off into the desert. Their savior marched them further and further into the desert till she found the place they would make their home. She worked her magic and carved an oasis for them. It is here that they have existed since those times. Their leader coming out to recently to see their ancestral homeland. The leader who is said to be a descendant of their savior because of his powers.
The Cahille Clan:

The Cahille were one of the clans that went missing doing the Concept War. The strife during that time caused them to strike off on their own finding a new place to call home. They simply decided they wanted nothing to do with the fighting. The islands they call home is mostly swamp land and they have adapted to it to the best of their abilities.
